Our consultants bring years of experience in horticulture and garden design, ensuring you receive professional guidance tailored to your specific needs.
Every consultation is customized to your garden's unique conditions, including soil type, sunlight exposure, and local climate factors.
We focus on creating resilient plant communities that work together naturally, reducing maintenance and supporting local biodiversity.
Our team consists of qualified horticulturists with formal training in plant science, soil management, and ecological garden design. Each consultant holds relevant certifications and continuously updates their knowledge through professional development courses. We combine academic expertise with practical experience gained from working with hundreds of gardens across North East England.
What sets us apart is our systematic approach to plant selection. Rather than simply recommending popular plants, we conduct thorough assessments of your specific microclimate, soil composition, and existing garden conditions. We then create detailed compatibility matrices that show how different plant combinations will interact over time, helping you avoid common mistakes that lead to plant failure or excessive maintenance.

Some plants naturally support each other's growth, while others compete for resources. Understanding these relationships helps create thriving garden ecosystems where plants complement rather than hinder each other.
Before selecting plants, assess your soil's pH, drainage, and nutrient content. Different plants have specific soil requirements, and matching plants to your existing soil conditions reduces the need for extensive amendments.
Your local climate determines which plants will thrive. Consider factors like average temperatures, frost dates, rainfall patterns, and seasonal variations when making plant selections.

Consultations are conducted on-site at your property. We travel to your location, eliminating the need for you to visit our office. For locations beyond our standard service area, please contact us to discuss travel arrangements and any additional charges that may apply.
Basic consultations last approximately one hour, comprehensive consultations take two hours, and premium consultations are full-day sessions. The actual duration depends on your garden size and the complexity of your requirements.
We provide detailed recommendations and plant lists, but we do not supply plants directly. We'll guide you on where to source recommended plants and can suggest reputable local nurseries and suppliers in your area.
It's helpful to know your garden's approximate size, areas of sun and shade throughout the day, any existing plants you want to keep, and your preferences for maintenance level and garden style. We'll assess soil conditions during the visit.
While our focus is on plant selection and compatibility, we can identify common issues with existing plants during consultations. For serious plant health problems, we may recommend consulting a plant pathologist or specialist.
We encourage open communication. If you have concerns about our recommendations, we're happy to discuss alternatives and adjust the plan to better meet your needs. Your satisfaction is important to us.
All packages include a support period (30 days for Basic, 90 days for Comprehensive, 6 months for Premium). During this time, you can contact us with questions about implementing recommendations. Premium packages include an additional on-site follow-up visit.
